Holi - A Hindu Festival

HOLI

Holi is a Hindu festival which is celebrated every year in almost all the parts of India. This year it is celebrated on 27-03-2013, on the full moon day. It is also known as the festival of colors, because people color each other with the different colors. People color each other with colors, on their body as well as their hearts too. It is the day when the people deepen their love for each other, and the people who were in fight with each other might also forget it, and rejoin together.
It is the day in the epics of the Hindus, when the Holika the sister of the Hirnayakashyapu was burnt in the fire, when she tried to kill the Prahalaad, who was a great devotee to the Lord Vishnu. People after playing holi of the colors, burn the Holika at night, so remembering the event each other. It is the day when the Prahlaad was saved by the God.
Things kept in mind:
It is good to play Holi with the colors which are safe for our skin. Use of dry colors is wise, because it saves water. It is good to put the colors on the people who love to have colors on them. Make people happy by playing it safe and with good intentions in the heart.
