I searched for the landslide in Dharmsala on the Google and the numbers of articles opened are from the following sites.

Now if you read the above news posts you will himvani reports damage of 15 houses, ndtv reports 30 houses, zeenews reports 'over a dozen houses' which fits both the numbers, tribuneindia has not written any number of houses but it provided us a photo in which Transport and food and civil supplies minister G S Bali is quoted to be hearing the grievances of the public. Yesterday I read the article written in Time of India which reported that almost a loss of 3 crores is estimated through this landslide. The people did not loose their lives, because they evacuated their homes before the sliding occurred. It was reported to start at 5:30AM in the morning and continued till afternoon. At 11:00AM all 20 families evacuated the homes. I think it is important to put the right news on any portals and the numbers can be helpful to anyone if they are written correctly. I don't know which number is correct among the above.
I was talking to Rahul, my colleague about the landslide and he told me that he lived in one of those houses a year back in the Dharmsala. I think he might have thanked God yesterday because he is not living at the same house now. Dharmsala is the region of Himachal Pradesh which gets the maximum rainfall. So it is important to check the soil and area on which the houses are made, because water can play with soil and it can play with you houses and lives. So better consult a Geotechnical Engineer before you construct an important building in that region. It is a beautiful place and also famous for the international cricket stadium and you can enjoy it all if you are safe.
