Himachal statehood day

Himachal Pradesh is the northern state of the India. After independence of the India, Chief Commissioner' province of  Himachal Pradesh came into existence on 15 April 1948. It became an unitary state on 1 November 1956, and after the 'State of Himachal Pradesh Act' which was passed by parliament in 18 Dec 1970, it became a new state of India on 25 January 1971, being the eighteenth state of the Indian union. So it attained its full state hood later, and that is the reason that Himachal Statehood day is celebrated on January 25, every year.
The state is among the fastest growing economic states of India because of a number of hydro electric projects in it.
